Startup Instructions for CQPWIN, ver. 7.3, 11/14/99 The zipped file CQPWINDO.EXE contains several files needed for CQPWIN, ver. 7.0. This version has the new 1999 scoring for WPX, and now covers Sprint, All Asian, ARRL DX, and CQWW, in addition to CQP, WPX and SS. It has other new features, including full support of a SoundBlaster-compatible card as a digital voice keyer, "InstaMatch" callsign verification from prior logs, and a full help system. It is now Y2K compliant. On screen display of rates is greatly expanded as is post-contest information. It can run under Windows 3.1 or 95. The files are: CQPWIN73.EXE -- The Executable program CQPWIN73.INI -- Initiation and Setup file CQPWIN73.DAT -- Data file CQPWIN73.HLP -- Help text file CQPWIN73 Help.doc -- Word 97 help file README73.TXT -- This file VBRUN200.DLL -- Visual Basic Runtime support file APIGUIDE.DLL -- ditto CMDIALOG.VBX -- ditto MCI.VBX -- ditto ARRL.CTY -- Country/Zone file used for ARRL DX, CQWW CTYHDG.EXE -- Utility by VE7VT to put beam headings in ARRL.CTY DEMOCQP.CQP -- Sample log files for three contests DEMOSS.CQP DEMOWPX.CQP To get started, copy all of these files to the same directory (e.g., C:\CQPWIN), except copy THE .dll AND .vbx support files to the WINDOWS/SYSTEM subdirectory on your hard disk. To run the program, create a program group item in Program Manager. Have it execute the program CQPWIN73.EXE (e.g., if you have the files in the C:\CQPWIN directory, then the "Command Line" in the Program Item Properties box in Program Manager would read :"C:\cqpwin\cqpwin73.exe"). If you want more flexibility, you can create a PIF program to run it. Or you can simply select the program name in Program Manager and use the Run option from the File Menu to run it. Or set it up on the Start menu or as an iconized program on the screen in Windows 95. Complete instructions on running the program are in the Help system when the program is run. You can also read the help file, CQPWIN73.HLP without running the main program by double clicking it to open it under Windows (it is a Windows Help File in standard Win 95 format). The help file is also contained in the Word 97 document. There is also a DOS version of this program, CQP55, which has the same basic features for CQP, SS, WPX, minus the DVK, InstaMatch, and a few other bells and whistles. It is also not Y2K compliant. These programs, and any upgrades can be downloaded from the Northern California Contest Club (NCCC) web site: "http:/www.cqp.org". 73, Andy, AE6Y.
